Document
imaging is a process by which paper documents are
converted to electronic form using a document scanner.
A
document scanner combines copier and fax technology
to convert a paper document to a grid of white and
black dots, not unlike a photograph in a newspaper.
This converted image is stored in a graphics file
on a computer. Some scanners have an automatic document
feeder that allows you to scan an entire stack of
documents as a single batch at one time.
